And so we begin

I ordered FTM for Mac this weekend, and it got here yesterday. I just installed and played around with a bit, adding family members and info that I know. I feel a bit overwhelmed by the scope of the program, I am assuming because I'm new to it. I am still figuring things out. I'll keep tinkering and seeking guidance in the HELP section. LOL. Until next time....

Good News

I have not posted regularly to this site. Matter of fact I think its been almost 2 years, but I'm back now (for like the 50th time). Anywhichway, have good news I just got back into the swing of things in my geneaological research. I stopped by the St.Croix Landmarks Society Library Archives last week and met with one of their specialists, who was very helpful in helping me with beginning my research. The SCLS library archives are the premiere place to begin your ancestral search in St.Croix, they have all the baptism and marriage records going back to the early 1800s and they also have other archives (pictures, documents, etc.) that can provide beneficial information in your quest to piece together your family story.

Also members of the VI Ancestry Discovery Group are often at the library, and are more than happy to help you.

So I've got lots of lots of information that I'm excited to share with my family and to learn more about. I will be posting more about that in the coming week as soon as I get to sorting out my notes. I also finally started my family tree on Ancestry website and I purchased Family Tree Maker for Mac software. So it seems like i'm off to a good start. I will try to keep a rhythm with this because its so exciting and enlightening to learn about the ones who came before me. I will keep you guys posted.

Happy Friday
